Research is life, not in the sense that it is so great that you have to enjoy it and so forth, no, but in the sense that it has its own ups and downs. If you are into it you comprehend it, you understand it is like a child with no unconsciousness, and as you raise it it becomes brighter and richer. Researcher makes faults, makes progress, and makes mistakes. Then learns from mistakes and recover and enhance. I have had this experience for years now and I have always tried to make myself more tolerant to the more harsh aspects of it. Some times you come across a very serious challenging situation where you think you have gone the whole way wrong and it has taken you like months or sometimes years, but that's OK, that's part of it. that's part of life too. It is a process, has always been, there is no fixed destination that you arrive at it and say my research is complete. There is a spirit in research who is learning ever always. Never say I did nothing in my research, it's something that may have not been your desired output but it has always been research. That's what it is. it's in it, it's the gist of it. mistakes and errors must be there so you appreciate correctness and success. I just wanted to say that you must keep going. It is the life itself, full of joy and sadness. Embrace it and enjoy it.
"If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?" — Albert Einstein
